Scouring for the best Prime Day sales can be tiresome. Lightning Deals with limited availability often sell out within minutes, while sifting through hundreds of thousands of discounts across the site can take hours.

Fortunately, there’s a more efficient way to discover Prime Day deals on the items you desire: activate Alexa’s advanced deal alerts.

Who can benefit from Alexa’s advanced deal alerts?

Advanced deal alerts are accessible to U.S.-based Prime members using newer Echo smart speakers. These alerts include forthcoming deals on eligible products on your Wish List, in your shopping cart, or saved for later, up to 24 hours ahead of their availability. You can also instruct Alexa to purchase an item as soon as its discount becomes active.

The advanced deal alerts feature operates year-round, proving particularly valuable during major saving events such as Prime Day and Black Friday, when the fear of missing out on discounts is palpable.

How to enable and use Alexa’s advanced deal alerts

  1. Open the Alexa mobile app. Go to More > Settings > Notifications > Amazon Shopping; from there, hit Shopping Recommendations and then Deal Recommendations.

  2. Add products of interest to your Wish List, Shopping Cart, or Saved for Later queue on the Amazon app or website.

  3. When Alexa detects an upcoming deal on one of those products, your Echo will illuminate yellow. Ask, “Alexa, what are my notifications?” to learn more.

  4. After hearing the latest deals, ask Alexa to remind you about the deal or request her to order it when it goes live (“Alexa, buy it for me”). The purchase will be made using your default payment and delivery address in your Amazon account, so ensure that this information is up to date and accurate beforehand.

What if an item sells out or I change my mind?

You’ll only be charged if your order goes through when the deal is available. If a product sells out before Alexa processes it, you’ll receive an email and a push notification. Additionally, if you change your mind about a purchase, Amazon will send a post-purchase confirmation email containing a “Cancel order request” link just in case.
